For Month 9 of JMC Design Build Remodel’s 12 Months of Kindness, we wanted to give back to someone who spends every day giving to others: a teacher!

This month, we had the opportunity to donate to Jennifer Feind, a kindergarten teacher at North Dover Elementary School who has been teaching for nearly 25 years. After dedicating so many years to helping young students learn, grow, and feel excited about coming to school, we were happy to help Jennifer stock her classroom for another school year.

Teachers do so much to create welcoming, engaging classrooms for their students, and many classroom supplies are purchased by teachers themselves. With the new school year underway, we thought this was the perfect opportunity to help stock a local classroom with some of the essentials, plus a few fun extras for the students to enjoy.

Stocking Up for the School Year

We put together individual supply bags for each student in the classroom so everyone could start the school year with some of the basics they need. Each student received:

• 1 folder

• 1 notebook

• 1 pack of crayons

• 1 pack of colored pencils 

• 1 pack of markers 

• 4 pencils

• 3 erasers

• 5 pencil eraser toppers

• 2 glue sticks

• 1 pencil case

Along with the individual bags, we provided the classroom with everyday cleaning supplies, including paper towels, tissues, cleaning spray, and wipes.

Of course, we wanted to include some fun stuff too! We added a variety of extra classroom goodies for the students to use and choose from, including bubbles, sidewalk chalk, Play-Doh, coloring books, paper, baggies, and more.

Supporting Our Local Teachers

A classroom goes through a lot of supplies throughout the school year, and even the little things can add up quickly. By adopting a teacher, we were able to help take a few items off her plate and provide her students with supplies they can use throughout the year.

We hope these supplies make the classroom a little more fun, organized, and ready for everything the school year brings!

The 12 Months of Kindness Campaign: Community Outreach in Morris County, NJ

Our 12 Months of Kindness Campaign is a yearlong initiative dedicated to community outreach in Morris County, NJ. Each month in 2026, we are selecting a different cause that reflects a real need within our local community.

As a local home improvement company, our success depends entirely on the trust of Morris County homeowners. Launching this initiative is our way of expressing gratitude and reinforcing our role as a responsible local business.

Community involvement should not be seasonal or occasional. It should be intentional and ongoing. By committing to monthly acts of service, we are creating accountability within our own team while also inviting clients, trade partners, and neighbors to participate alongside us.

9 Months of Giving Back

It is hard to believe we are already nine months into our 12 Months of Kindness initiative. Each month has given the JMC team a new opportunity to support people and organizations in our community in a different way.

With three months left in our 12 Months of Kindness, we still have plenty more planned! In the coming months, the JMC team will be supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month, collecting warm coats through a coat drive, and finishing out the year with a toy drive to help bring some extra joy to children during the holiday season.
